How we compare products
We are not claiming to have tested 100 products in a lab. Here is exactly what we do, what we do not do, and why.
What we do
For every product in our comparisons, we cross three sources:
- Amazon France user reviews: average rating and review count. It is the broadest source available and the closest to real world use.
- Manufacturer specifications: dimensions, materials, maximum load, warranty, features. Objective, measurable criteria.
- Actual prices: we record prices on Amazon France. A product whose price moves significantly is updated.
What we do not do
- We do not physically test the products. We have no lab and no test protocol.
- We do not assign a subjective "Kesparo score". The ratings shown are Amazon's.
- We do not guarantee prices are accurate to the minute. The price on Amazon at the time of your purchase is the one that counts.
- We do not cover every product on the market. We select the models that seem relevant in each price range.
How products are selected
Products make the list on three criteria:
- Availability: the product must be on sale on Amazon France
- Review volume: we favour products with enough reviews for the rating to mean something, usually 500 or more
- Range coverage: we want every price segment represented, from entry level to high end, so every budget finds something
Ranking and sorting
By default products are sorted by rating, highest first. You can also sort by price, ascending or descending, or by number of reviews.
No ranking is paid for. No brand pays us to appear first, to be labelled "best choice" or "recommended". Where a product sits depends only on the sorting criteria you pick.
How we make money
Kesparo runs on Amazon affiliate links. When you click a product link and buy on Amazon, we earn a commission, typically 5 percent, at no extra cost to you.
That is what keeps us independent: no display advertising, no sponsored content, no paid placement. If we recommend a product, it is because its data holds up, not because someone paid for it.
Limits and honesty
We are aware of where this approach falls short:
- Amazon reviews can be biased, through incentivised reviews or malicious competitors
- Manufacturer specifications can be optimistic
- We do not measure real ergonomics, comfort over an eight hour day, or durability over five years
- Our selection is editorial, so we can miss good products
That is why we hand you the tools to compare for yourself: the filters, the raw specifications, the links to Amazon reviews. We do not decide for you.
